Saturday saw the girls play their first double header of the season, when they took on Nunnery Wood.
The first game started with Phoenix scoring within the first minute, when Harvey tapped in from a Tarnowski cross. After Phoenix missed a penalty they piled on the pressure. After a number of missed chances, it took until halfway through the second half to get the second. Jones finished from close range from a Harris cross. Three minutes later after a brilliant team move allowed Jones to return the favour and set up Harris to curl in a world class strike.
Game 1 won and now game 2 to go.
The second game was very frustrating for Phoenix who had all the possession but just couldn’t score, as the players started to tire the game started to become scrappy and fizzled out into a 0-0 draw.
The four points means Phoenix look to be cementing at least third place in the league. They are now on a six game undefeated run and have five clean sheets in a row.
With a short break for Easter they are back at Mill lane on Saturday 23rd when they host Halas Hawks before a big game on Monday 25th at Meadow Park against the top of the league.
