Lee is the Head of Painters’ Wills, Trusts and Probate (Private Client) Department which he set up in 1990. Lee has considerable experience in all aspects of preparing Wills and Trusts, Inheritance Tax planning, including estate and succession planning for individuals, farmers, and other owner-managed businesses. He also deals with Executorship, Contentious Probate matters, Mental Capacity issues, care of the elderly and care funding, Charities and Charity Law.
He has particular experience advising clients on complex technical Inheritance Tax issues. He has successfully negotiated with HMRC Trusts and Estates department on behalf of clients to obtain considerable tax savings for their benefit.
Lee attended Wolverhampton University, followed by Chester Law College. He qualified as a Solicitor in 1984 and brought with him over 40 years of experience to the industry. He enjoys assisting clients in resolving their problems and helping them to plan and organise their legal affairs.
Outside of work, Lee enjoys music and most sports. He has played for Stourport Hockey Club in three National Men’s Masters (Over 40’s) finals, unfortunately finishing runner up each time! He captained the Ancient Britons Hockey Club (an over 50’s invitation touring side) on a European Tour and travelled to Holland, Portugal, Italy, and Malta.
Lee has also been involved in a local hospice charity – Kemp Hospice – for over 30 years and initially set up their charitable trading company. He is in remission from cancer having undergone surgery for prostate cancer in September 2018 and he is keen to get involved in their fundraising events and in raising awareness of the illness.

A Power of Attorney is a legal document in which you nominate someone you trust to manage your financial affairs or your welfare when you lack the physical or mental capacity to do so. There’s a lasting power of attorney which allows you to nominate a person to deal with your property and finances.
